On my way home yesterday I got a text from Skylar that I am so glad that I got. He asked me if I wanted to go to the Relient K concert in Green Bay that night. All I asked was when and how much. After a roller coaster of me not being able to go and being able to, he finally was able to pick me up! As we walked in Skylar was really regretting wearing a V-neck tee... ha ha! Too many little scene kids there! Quietdrive played first and they actually weren't that bad. They performed well. Owl City really isn't my thing and I don't want to go on bashing people, but frankly it was not exciting. Relient K was freaking awesome of course, but that is just a DUH! They are such normal guys. They played the Office Theme, the Five-Dollar Footlong Song and CAKE'S THE DISTANCE! It was so cool! Matt Thiessen was even playing the trumpet! Who knew he could? When they finally came out for their encore they played Deathbed!!! Which no one expected, but secretly hoped they would, since it is an 11 minute long song. Afterwards we waited around for a little while, hoping to see the guys of course, and things were starting to look a little hopeless. Greg had to go, which was sad because about two minutes after he left Skylar and I went around to the back where the tour bus was. After waiting for only about 10 minutes Jon Schneck the lead guitarist came out and took pictures and signed stuff, which was cool. Then Matt Thiessen came out! Skylar looked at me with the best idea in the world. We walked up to Matt and we asked to sing a TENOR CHORD with him! Then he asked, "How many notes?" After a first attempt, which I botched because I was so excited, we sang a beautiful chord with him! WE SANG WITH MATT THIESSEN! The I continued to take pictures of him while he was signing other people's things and then I got my ticket signed for Greg and took my picture with him! I think the most embarassing part of this whole thing was after I took me picture with him I told him that I almost pooped my pants when they played Cake. He said that it would have been pretty cool if there was some sort of bowel earthquake during that song! After having one last laugh with him my night was complete! I will definitely try to get the video of us singing up here!
Okay I definitely wrote too much! Sorry... :P
I will try and keep the posts more interesting sounding and shorter. I am just so pumped right now I can't stop typing!
